Nominee: MOR
MOR is proudly Australian and recognised globally for its range of innovative, luxury skin care, body care and pampering products.
Designers, Deon Iuretigh and Dianna Burmas were seduced by the beauty industry when the pair began creating products for their interior-design retail store in the Melbourne CBD. In 2001 the couple discovered their passion for fragrance and channelled all their energies into a new line of body care products.
Today, MOR has 470 products available nationally and internationally in boutique and department stores including David Jones, Liberty, Harrods and Nordstrom.
MOR was ranked 12th in the BRW 2004 Fast 100 - Australia’s fastest growing small and medium sized enterprises. Mor was also was a recipient of funding through the City of Melbourne Small Business Development Program
Nominee: Shopping Secrets Pty Ltd
Michelle Matthews is an independent Melbourne based publisher that has rapidly expanded her business, Shopping Secrets Pty Ltd, nationally and internationally.
Starting with “Shopping Secrets Melbourne”, a guide to the city’s innovative retailers, in 1998, Michelle has grown her business to include “Dining Secrets” and “Bar Secrets”. Packaged under the “Deck of Secrets” banner, these funky urban guides have proven to be very popular with workers, visitors and tourists in Melbourne and Sydney.
Michelle has taken Bars Secrets to the world, including London and Hong Kong, with guides for Shanghai, San Francisco, Edinburgh, Ibiza, and Barcelona in production. She is also developing a national bar guide/CD concept for Australia.
Shopping Secrets was also a recipient of funding through the City of Melbourne Small Business Development Program
Michelle won the media category at the 2004 Victorian Tourism Awards.
Nominee: Saurin Group and Longwarry Food Park-Rakesh Aggarwal
Rakesh Aggarwal migrated from India to Australia in 1992 and worked for Bonlac Foods for 5 years.
The Saurin Group was started in 1997. The business commenced by offering Contract Engineering Services and gradually moved into manufacturing and turnkey jobs for the Food and Pharmaceuticals industry.
Rakesh bought a Milk Spray Drying Plant from Bonlac Foods in 2001 and has successfully re-commissioned the plant and developed it as a Food Park, the only of its kind in Private Sector.
Rakesh Aggarwal is an Electrical Engineer with experience in India, the Middle East, Germany and Australia.
Nominee: Crumpler Bags
Crumpler bags come in different sizes, for different people and for different uses in different places,
Crumpler began in 1995 in Fitzroy, formed by two ex-bicycle couriers who saw the need for durable, visibile bags for couriers.
From there, Crumpler expanded into IT, photo bags, and accessories and became popular not only locally, but internationally. They are now based in North Melbourne
Nominee: Aconex Pty Ltd
Aconex provides online information management solutions for the construction, property and resources industries.
By filing all project information in an online, central system, Aconex enables project members (including engineers, architects and contractors) to store, distribute, track and share documentation (such as drawings, plans, e-mails and faxes) from any location any time. The system creates a fully searchable documentation trail that spans the entire project lifecycle.
Five years on from its creation by Leigh Jasper & Rob Phillpot, Aconex is servicing $45 billion worth of building projects in countries as diverse as Britain, Dubai and Malaysia and is a market leader in Australia.
Aconex ranked 4th in the BRW 2004 Fast 100.
Nominee: The Cancer Council Victoria
As Victoria's oldest cancer charity, the Cancer Council has been leading the fight against cancer since 1936.
The three cornerstones of the Cancer Council are research, cancer prevention, and patient support.
Nominee: Travellers Aid Society of Victoria
The Travellers Aid Society of Victoria (TASV) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been assisting visitors to Melbourne since 1916.
TASV’s versatility has met the changing needs of the community through its many services and programmes.
From meeting and assisting visitors to Melbourne, to the establishment of a free disability access service, free computer/internet training for senior citizens and helping stranded travellers.
Travellers Aid has adapted to the changing city over many years.

Are you ready for next big thing?
Next month there will be 25 iHubs on the streets of Melbourne with another 20 or so to follow. These 42" interactive touch screens will change the way people seek information about all the shopping, sights, restaurants, attractions and transport services the city has to offer.
They will also change the way businesses communicate with people on the street, allowing them to take bookings, update information instantly, run live film of events and mix media like never before.
